TRIBUTE TO THE FIREFIGHTERS
In this celebration day, it's absolutely necessary to remember the courage of the N.Y.C.D. Firefighters; I wish to pay a tribute to these men, which were the first present during this day of September 11th, 2001. A lot of them were killed by trying to save the persons who were prisoners of the superior floors of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. We can say that they are heroes!! They have a mission ,to give somebody help whatever the circumstances, but in this case, it was terrible and technical difficulties were numerous. The Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) quickly deployed 200 units ,half of the department, to the site, whose efforts were supplemented by numerous off-duty firefighters, emergency people and policemen .
The first fireman is dead because a victim has jumped of a floor at about 9:30 am to escape the flames who propagated in the building. This man unfortunately fell down and killed the firefighter, he was the first victim among the firefighters in that tragedy!
We count more than 2985 deaths whose majority are firefighters: 265 men or women who are on the planes, 125 civilians and militaries at the Pentagon, 343 firefighters of New York, 23 policemen and the rest being employees or visitors who were in towers. Although this profession paid a high price in these attacks.
We must remember forever their courage ,they became heroes of the American nation because they save also before the crash in twin towers a lot of persons who worked in the offices of the towers. They evacuated them very fast and they succeeded in saving a lot of lives.
Today, the firefighters are still marked by this tragic event in their flesh and in their heart .
